Dashboards + Automation, Built by Your CFO
Your numbers, on one screen, without opening QuickBooks.
I build live dashboards and automations for service business owners: the screen with the five numbers that actually run your business, updating on its own. Built by the person who also knows what those numbers mean.
Ask About a DashboardYou already have the data. You just never look at it.
QuickBooks records everything, in accounting language, three menus deep. Most owners I meet check their bank balance and call it a day, and then find out a job lost money two months after it closed.
A dashboard flips that. One private link. Cash on hand, invoices past due, profit by job or service line, and where the month is heading. It refreshes on its own. You glance at it Monday morning the way you check the weather.
A dev shop can build a dashboard. It can't tell you what belongs on it.
The hard part of a dashboard isn't the software, it's choosing the right five numbers and defining them correctly. Gross profit that includes labor or doesn't. Jobs that are actually done versus billed. That's judgment, and it's the judgment I already apply to my clients' numbers every month. You get the screen and the thinking behind it in one engagement.
The offers
The Owner's Dashboard
$2,500 flat, then $200/month
Connected straight to QuickBooks.
- Live dashboard: cash position, invoices and aging, profit by job or service line, monthly trend
- One automation included, like a Monday morning numbers email or an automatic list of invoices that need a phone call
- We scope it together in a 30-minute call: your numbers, your labels, your priorities
- One revision round, live walkthrough, 30 days of post-launch support
- The monthly fee covers hosting, the data connection, and small tweaks
The Spreadsheet Dashboard
$1,250 flat, then $150/month
For owners who run the business from a spreadsheet, and it works. Keep your spreadsheet. You built it, it fits your business, and I'm not going to tell you to replace it. I connect a dashboard to it so the sheet you already update becomes a clean screen you can read in ten seconds, and share with a partner, a spouse, or a banker without handing over the whole workbook.
- Your spreadsheet stays exactly as it is
- Live dashboard reads from it automatically
- Same scoping, revision round, walkthrough, and 30 days of support
- Upgrade path to the full QuickBooks version whenever you're ready
Custom builds & automations
Quoted flat
Have something bigger in mind? A client portal, a bid tracker, a workflow you're tired of doing by hand? Tell me what you need and I'll quote it flat, with the same rules: defined scope, a real walkthrough, and a monthly fee that keeps it running.
- Defined scope before any work starts
- A real walkthrough when it ships
- A monthly fee that keeps it running
How it works
01
Scope it.
A 30-minute call where we pick the numbers that matter and what they should be called. This is the CFO part.
02
I build it.
First version within days, not months. You see it privately before anyone else does.
03
One revision round.
Your words on the labels, your priorities on top.
04
Go live.
You get the link, a walkthrough, and 30 days of support while it settles in.
05
It just runs.
The monthly fee keeps the data flowing and covers small tweaks. Bigger changes get a straight quote before any work starts.
The fine print, in plain English
The flat fee covers the build as scoped, one revision round, and 30 days of post-launch support.
The monthly fee covers hosting, data connections, and minor adjustments. New features are quoted separately, always before the work happens.
Your data stays yours. If we ever part ways, you get your data out and the dashboard retires. No hostage situations.
FAQ
How is this different from the dashboard inside QuickBooks?
QuickBooks shows accounting categories and assumes you'll log in and go find things. This shows your business: profit per job, the invoices worth a phone call this week, whether the month is on pace, on one screen you'll actually open. And it can include what QuickBooks doesn't have, like numbers from your scheduling tool or your own spreadsheets.
What's this actually worth to me?
Whatever faster decisions are worth in your business. For most of my clients the aging-invoice list alone pays for the build. Money that was sitting out there gets chased weeks earlier because it's staring at you every Monday. Catching one job drifting over budget before it finishes usually covers it too.
Do I need to be a Tallyz CFO client?
No. Dashboards are open to anyone. But if I already handle your numbers, scoping goes faster and the dashboard plugs into work we're already doing.
Is my financial data safe?
The connection to QuickBooks is read-only, the dashboard sits behind a login, and nobody sees it but the people you choose.
What if I stop paying the monthly fee?
The dashboard needs the monthly fee to stay connected and hosted, so it retires 30 days after the last payment. You keep your data and any exports.
