I launched Tallyz in 2022, but the foundation started way before that.
After earning my Bachelor's in Business Management and my Master's in Accounting and Finance, I spent years as a controller managing multi-million dollar operations. I worked on a $40 million Navy project, collaborated with businesses in Angola, Vietnam, and France, and sat in rooms with C-suite executives and bankers. I've managed portfolios of $27M+ and modeled over 150 contracts. I loved the complexity, the projects, and driving businesses forward.
But when I started helping small business owners on the side, something clicked. Owners came to me with real questions. Not paperwork questions, future questions. What should I pay myself? Can I afford this hire? What does this decision do to my taxes?
That became Tallyz: CFO thinking and tax strategy for the owners building something worth planning for. I also co-own an electrical contracting business with my husband, so I know exactly what it's like on your side of the table.
And somewhere along the years of building forecasts and models, I found out I love building the tools themselves. These days I design and build the dashboards and automations my clients run on, which is a strange hobby for an accountant, and exactly why the Systems side of Tallyz exists.
